That's a Big F*#king Helicopter....................:thumbs2:
I had problems a few years ago with my 77. Problem was the crap solenoids made today. Found an new-old style and solved the problem
Only thing you could have done extra was curve the cut outward under the top to give maybe another inch of room. This is what I did to my 77. I'm...
Just the regular stuff with teflon.
Bottom holes went into the coolant gallery starting with the 1980 E0AE blocks. If that's what you have, ordinary pipe thread sealer will do, you...
Don't be afraid to run deeper rear gears without overdrive. My Comet's got a Toploader 4 speed with a 3.50 rear and 26.5" tires (295/50-15) It's...
Don't be surprised if the transmission doesn't work now. You may have broken the gear in the front pump when you tightened those bolts and got it...
You can always change the gear. But as far as MSD goes, they're about the most pricey of ignitions and no better than a stock Ford Duraspark setup.
Another thing to pay attention to is chamber volume. On a 302, you'd want 58 cc chambers, on a 351, 64 cc chambers are acceptable.
You're better off with a 302 based stroker in these cars. Whole lot less headache trying to fit them vs a 351
I've got a half dozen 70-up covers. I'll measure them. But I used an 88 cover from a crown Vic and a late 88 aluminum std rotation pump for one,...
Then the balancer's pulley flange had a different offset. Or the water pump was different. You generally cannot mix parts from FEAD's (Front End...
Yea, you have the wrong water pump pulley. There were several offsets in waterpump pulleys over the years, ditto for the crank pulleys. It's no...
Supposedly the timing marks retarded the cam 4*. I've only seen one that was off from straight up. On a straight up set, the cam dowel and crank...
Not true. The front flange mounting the water pump is the same dimension from the block. I'm using a late 80's cover with V belt pulleys....
Yea, that's what they told me too. They were wrong. Like I said, if you have the nut/bolt SIR rods, they don't make these any longer. All they...
Don't be so sure. If those are the older Eagle 5.4 rods, they don't make them any more. Do they have a bolt & nut, or are they capscrew rods ? I...
One thing to keep in mind as far as torqueing it down is to do the sequence as many times as it takes till the gaskets are fully compressed....
The difference would be the location in the engine bay of the collectors. They're going to be moved up and out some compared to a 302.
While I haven't done anything to my 77 (everything up front was fairly new when I bought it) I did completely go through my previous car, a 67 Big...
