How about a motor oil forum, so people can discuss their favorite brands of oil. Oh, and how about one for gasoline?...

As the forum grows, searching for relevant info gets harder and takes longer and that is why I try to keep threads in the correct forums. It like a library, where books are divided by topic. If this new forum does not workout, I can remove it and move the posts over to it's parent forum.

Well, everytime I log-on, I immediately click on "New Posts" and browse through all of them. I guess I just assumed that is what most people do. I certainly don't need (or want) to browse through each individual forum to read all the latest posts...

Someone looking for info is going to be searching individual forums for the info they want. If everything is kept neatly in place, then the info they are looking for will be found easily.

I hardly ever use the New Posts button. I always just go down through each forum and click on what ever looks intresting to me.

T.L., I actually know of other forums that are like that. Split up diffrent years, have diffrent forums for suspension, brakes, drivetrain, etc. When searching, it's alot easier to find information realative to what your searching for on forums like that.

But isn't that what the Search feature is for? Whenever I've needed specific information, I have just typed it into the search box and all the threads on that topic came up. I guarentee that if anyone types "wheels tires" into the search box, they'll find all the wheel & tire info that has ever been posted here...

This is exaclty what you dont want as this will result in posts about flat tires, spare tires that have never been mounted, hot wheels, posts with the word "tries" miss spelled, etc. With all these posts to look through, it will take longer to find what you are looking for.

By making an advance search on a particular sub forum, results will more accurate and it will take you less time to find the info you are looking for. It will also be easier on the server as it does not have to scan through 200,000 posts.

This is why the moderators and myself try to keep threads in thre correct forums and non maverick posts go into the off topic section. :)

I think it's a great idea to have a thread about tires. (y)

I've posted a couple of threads on tires. One was cosmetic, on which new tires I should buy for my Grabber to look original. And one was technical, on my wheels sounding like Calypso Band (nuts had come loose).

I've asked if it's safe to use the original spare. In fact I wonder if one of those compact spares would work on a Maverick. Or if I could use a spare that's a different size from the other three tires.

So where would these go, technical or cosmetic? I can see either.

    Those are technical questions.
