windshield wipers run to slow

    The winshield wipers on my 1976 run to slow,is this vacumm or electrical related.The car has ac and I have not even looked under the dash yet.Thanks Eric

    Mine are really slow too, Im going to end up replacing the wiper motors and replace all the wiring..

    Can you check how much power is going to the wiper motor?

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    These cars are from the 1970's......they all were slow.

    No vacuum....all electrical.

    yeah the ones in my truck run about the same speed as the ones on the grabber, really a pain when a thunderstorm or blizzard hits :( i have seen a lot of switch changes for the delay done but wonder how hard putting newer wiper assembly in would be...... junk yard project?

    The wipers in these old Fords will not sling the blades off the arms like the newer cars do today. I'm guessing that it didn't rain as hard years ago like it does today (global warming?) Even on high it's like low speed. If the wipers are moving...the motor is turning. It might help to put graphite powder on all the moving parts under the dash.

    ok thanks,I really dont plan on using them alot but was just puzzled,didnt remember my old ones going so slow,but that was 25 years ago,They might not of even worked at all.:scratchchin:
