any one done a pwr window conversion to a 2 dr mav and how about power quarter windows too input or thread direction would be appreciated
It has been done to a 2-door. I am sure it is on here somewhere. You will find it quite difficult to have roll down rear quarter windows. It would require body modifications, and the creation of window seals, as well as all the mechanisms inside the rear quarter panel. It would be neat to see.
As for power quarter windows a person could use explorer or expedtion power regulators , They pop out like mav quarter window due . As for power door windows due a search and check my gallery.
Yeah....I guess mrbrooksy could have meant power flip out Maverick rear windows. I believe Tom Hackmann has done both power front windows and power side flip out windows. I seem to recall he used Dodge Caravan power flip out window motors. Ford Windstars have a similiar set up.
I used a kit from Autoloc for my power windows. the motor dosnt drive gear on the regulator do stick out too far and interfere with stock door panels though. I made custom ones and cut out the wood where needed to clear the motor and gear.
My 2 door has power windows. I bought regulators from Tom Hackmann years ago that he had modified to include the motors. It's been a long time, and I can't remember where the motors came from....a Probe maybe? I used switches from a Lincoln and mounted them in an aftermarket console between the front seats:
I have made contact with NuRelics. They do power window conversions for all sorts of cars and trucks. When I am ready to do mine they want me to send them pictures of my window regulator as well as the door with the panel off so they can see what they have to work with. They have yet to do a Maverick but did not seem worried about it at all. Once I do mine they will add the kit to their catalog. http://www.nu-relics.com/ The way they do is to attach a power widow motor to a regulator. It is all competely bolt in with no fabrication what so ever. I used their kit on my 47 Ford, unbolted the lot window regulator, and then bolted in theirs. Run the wires to the power and the switch and you are done.
I thought there use to be a tech article on this..using the Taurus power window motors. Plus I'm almost certain there was one in "Shorthorns" not too long ago either. OOOoooh but I do like the looks of those Nu Relic ones!
I believe "Thack" uses rear tarus motors adapted to our regulators. Mavdog71 bought some from him. When I saw them in his gallery I PMed him to ask about them and this was what he told me. He used Crown Vic switches.
Dave, The Nu-Relics units are really nice, and really easy to install. Nothing to think about. If a guy can remove his old regulator, then he can install the new one with power windows. Yes they are a little pricey, but the convenience is unbelievable. I know a bunch of guys that have installed them in everything from 32 Fords to 69 Camaro's.
These look just like Maverick Regulators wonder if they would work? https://www.nu-relics.com/Mustang-Cougar-s/469.htm
car-nut (Glen) had nu-relics make a bolt in set for our cars. They are not on their website but are available now. No mods needed just bolt them in and wire them up...
