Which one is factory correct for '72 Comet

    Which one of these is factory correct for 1972 and also which knobs?

    The top radio looks like the AM that came in my 72. Not sure if the knobs are the same though ... kind of leaning toward the bottom photos knobs.

    That radio in the second photo gives me an impression it is from a late-70s Ford ( the texturing on the plastic), but I would expect a later unit to also be FM, too, so it is likely that it is an earlier unit. (I don't know any of that for a fact. ;) )

    I suppose, given the times, that an 8 track player would have had to be an option in Mav/Comets, but I have a hard time imagining that squeezed into the bezels I have seen. Were there different bezels out there?

    the 72 pinto sprint i sold coutangman had the top unit with the bottom knobs look at the part number it can tell you to

    Thanks for the info and I will see if the bottom knobs will fit the top one if they are closer or correct for the year.

    The bottom knobs are the same as the factory radio that came in my 1972 comet gt. However the radio was am only.
