What is the plastic housing-black tube thing in the left side trunk well of a 69.5? It is mounted to a bracket in the taillight area and also mounts just above the wheel house. I could not find any tubes or wires connected to it.

Yes I know, pictures would have been nice, but I didn't have my camara with me. :slap:

Eric it may not have had any wiring in it but that's what it's for...Katies 69.5 has one and so does my 70...later bud.

I think it is a California emission crap. My 69.5 has it too and I know mine is from CA. If you look underneath, there are a bunch of small hoses going to it. Weird stuff, I couldnt figure it out.

This thing was pretty big, almost like some type of vapor canister? Wish I had my camara.

Rick, are you refering to the black tube the wires run in along the whole tail panel? This thing is just in the left side trunk well. I had to unbolt it to remove the taillight nuts.

Emissions? Yes Dennis, now that makes sense. I've never seen it before today. Next time I'm over there I'll get a picture and look closer for hoses.

This might be what they did instead of a vented fuel cap. The early cars didn't have carbon canisters and closed systems, but Cali would have. :90:

Yes....California Emissions. Look up under the driver's rear quarter up in the wheel house.....you will see more of it. The most confluted thing you ever saw.

I have no idea how it works. There are a bunch of hoses that run from the tank to this thing. Like I said, I couldn't figure it out.
