Hey, guys. I would like advice. My car has this metal trim on the sides that I am not all that crazy about. When the time comes for paint, what do you use to fill the holes where the trim was attached? (something that will not sink in later) I have seen holes that were filled, and then after it was painted, the filler sinks in and causes the hole to show / paint to crack / rust, etc. What are your thoughts? I think they just look better without that metal trim. ;)

hopefully. i dont have one nor do i know how to and everyone i talk to with welders and expierence is afraid the metal is to thin and they'll burn right through. the hot knife through butter affect i guess. same people have been telling me "no way" to a patch panel to the bottom of my front fender for the same reasons

im really OCD when it comes to filling holes in metal with non-metal fillers...

Welding the holes shut is the only permanent way to do away with them.
Fan2488's description of the process is right on the money.

I got mad skillz, yo! Looks like you're getting plenty of offers of help, so I might as well throw my hat in the ring too. About a half hour drive for you. Got a heated shop and plenty of beer in the fridge (ok, beers come after welding). I'll zip em shut for you and you can follow behind on the grinder.
