I think "Tech Articles" should have some control placed upon them, and should be locked once found to be correct and safe. Plus so that useless posts don't get added, it's not a discussion area, or it should have been posted somewhere else. If the article is found to be of good quality, and the correct way to complete something then it should be in that section as a "Read Only" thread. Just my
Agreed. I really liked the mustang gas tank conversion article, but would have liked to add a few things left out, when i did mine.
I suggest you do a writeup on...how you did yours...don't try to ...add to or suggest how someone could have done it different (faster, better, cheaper, etc. etc.). when i do a writeup on something I did (Tech Articles) and someone comes in with pics. and how they did his/hers, i delete the writeup... it's easy to start your own... then link to it from theirs... JMO...:Handshake
Im on vacation for the next two weeks, and will go through them to remove the chit chat. The nature of the articles is to allow people to discuss and ask questions.
this is were the maverick.to wiki would come in!! people make a sub heading on the same page detailing how they did it and/or add pics to what the steps would be.... also, it is usually easier to search a wiki than wade though all the threads that say pretty much the same thing over (and over and over.....)
i agree to a degree...if i state "i used a hub from a '93 Crown Vic." and someone asks "will a hub from a '02 Jetta work instead" etc, etc. I don't have a clue and the question has nothing to do with my writeup of...WHAT I DID...i can understand questions as...the price of a part i used, where i found it, and were any mods. done to the parts. keep the questions to: what is in the writeup... ...if you did it different...do a writeup w/pics. of your own...don't clutter someone elses writeup with ...what you did different. this is just for the...Tech Articles ...section only. ...:Handshake...
This is what i meant to say... I was going to write up mine with how i did it a little different. with more pictures. I was trying to say what i left out and did different. Not that you left anything out, i'm certainly not knocking your tech article... without it, i would have never attempted this and now i have a new tank I just did a few different things... and BTW, thanks for the part numbers for the grommet and valve.
