I been cleaning and painting my engine this last week. I finished it up the top half today. It took 3 days it get it clean enough. I removed the carburetor, fan, pulleys, distributor, fuel pump, coil, throttle linkage, alternator brackets, valve cover, radiator, and probably other parts I can't recall. The pulleys, fan, alternator brackets, bolts and coil bracket were painted simi gloss black. The valve cover bolts, fuel line, timing pointer, throttle cable, fan spacer and bracket were painted cast aluminum. The block, head, air cleaner and valve cover was painted Corporate Blue. Today I went to Melvin's Classic Ford Parts and bought the air cleaner decal. When it quits raining I plan on doing the oil pan and motor mounts.
I used Dupi-Color Engine Enamel DE-1606 Ford Dark Blue DE1650 Cast Coat Aluminum DE1635 Ford Semi Gloss Black
Wow! turned out really nice, looks awesome in the 3rd picture! Better than when in rolled of the line!
Looks great man! I bet it's going to start a maddening chain reaction though. You'll start looking at things next to the engine that you thought looked fine until they got next to that sweet new paint... Next thing you know everything's out and you're taping and spraying like a fiend! I am trying hard to resist that myself.
