    Car show pics (New stripes)

Well, I didn't win anything but I had a good time. I entered my car in a benefit car show at a Ford Dealership this weekend with hopes of winning it's first award but the competition was pretty stiff. They had over 100 cars and had only top 25 awards so I missed out. I did see some cars win that I was surprised about though but most of them deserved it. I also know that anytime you let the participants do the judging that anything can happen because I kept hearing guys so "you vote for me and I'll vote for you" so I didn't let it bother me about not winning. :coco: :bs: :D
I did meet a lot of nice people and got a lot of very nice comments on my car. The Mustang club putting the show on liked it enough that they asked me to put the car on the dealership display out by the road. I felt honored to have my car displayed like that.
I was also surprised to find another Maverick in the show. It needs some work but hopefully he will be joining us here soon...I did the invite.
I also had a guy offer to sell me a 75 4-door Mav fully loaded with good running 302, a/c, p/s, disc, and supposedly rust free body for $200. It has a caved in roof and no title. I plan on making a trip to New Orleans in the next few days to pick that one up and part it out. He operates a towing yard so he sells cars cheap when they never get picked up. He said he also has 12 Ford Fairlanes and a ton of other cars. I'm anxious to get over there and see what I can get into.
Anyway, I wanted to share a few pics of my car at the show. The last pics I posted didn't have the side stripes on them. The car looks totaly different with the stripes. Let me know what you guys think.:)

Mavericks rarely win participant voting (at least mine doesn't) ... You would have definitely won something if there were judges there ... your car is sweet! Glad to see you got it up on the display block without trashing the front spoiler! :)

Yeah, I had to get somebody to watch it close before I would try it. Very close but no scrapes.:)

I couldn't have said it better myself. (y)

The ought to call it "I've got more friends here than you" judging.

i used to show my 62 ranchero. did pretty good at shows that had impartial judges. found out the one with the most friends wins in the participant judging. your car is definitely a winner in my book.

With all the friends you have here, you would have won best of class and best of show. :D Your car is definitely a winner.(y) You are right about participant judging being a crock. I go to very few local shows for just that reason. I don't belong to the local ' clicks' and I don't have a Chevy. I love going to shows where I don't know anybody. We went to show last year that we had never been to before that had participant judging. According to the sponser booklet we all got, the guy with the Gran Prix next to us won our class 3 years in a row. The guy seemed a bit shocked when my Maverick was picked instead of his Gran Prix.:D I was surprized too because everybody seemed to know the guy. I look at it this way: if the Maverick wins something, great. If it does'nt, no big deal. As long as we had a good time, that's all that really matters.
