Big bumpers to Small?

    How big a job is it to convert a big bumper Mav/Comet to a small bumper car? Anyone done this? I'm not to kean on the big bumpers :16suspect

    the hardest part is finding all the small bumper parts to convert over. many on this board have done this.its a pretty straightforward swap.

    you can use the search feature on the board to find more details.

    you could always just modify your big bumpers, they can be made to look good.(y)

    Cool, Thanks.....guess I need to find a car first..lol Looking at a Comet in VA thats on eBay now but it has more rust then one may think, they sent be some more pics and the bottom of the doors and inside upper edge of trunk is pretty rusty. Sharp car tho! (y)

    I will be doing it myself shortly. Just got to get the brackets for the front and weld in mounts for the back and I'll be ready to rock and roll.

    There is pretty much only one way to do the back .. you will need a welder to do it properly ...

    I have seen several methods to install the front brackets. My technique required only two holes to be drilled and works well.

    The absolute best way to do it is to get a complete small bumper parts car ... park the big bumper and small bumper next to each other and compare. It makes it much easier. I collected all the parts seperately but also have a small bumper car so it was easy to keep comparing and take measurements when needed.

    Yep gotta say your mod looks great. I wish I could afford your car but got too many projects now...
