I finally got aorund to fixing a couple things on my Mavy to make it road worthy again. My daily driver gets a whopping 12mpg. Can the maverick beat that? (250' with the C4) I searched and found a thread where folks were reporting mid to upper 20's. Is that the rule or the exception? What can i expect for city driving? I know, I know. I can figure it out my self. But with this 20 gallon tank it may take a while to run it down so i can get an accurate figure. thanks yall
stop and go city traffic should have you in the high teens, there alot better on the highway though. im in the mid to high 20's on the freeway i tend to burn through it a little quicker since i put the 2bbl on
I used to get 22 highway and 18 city with my 250/c4. 19 city 23 highway when I added a 3 speed stick. funny thing is I managed 24 mpg highway when I put a real mild v8 in with the same 3 gear but dropped to 16 mpg city. That was with a 2.72:1 rear gear.
i got 35.7 mpg in my maverick on the 170 with 3 speed. it is possible for a I6 to get in the high 20's to low 30's
My 71 with a ballanced 302 V8 engine,, was getting High 20's Highway,, she had a stock diferential and was converted from a 250 I6 to the V8,, I did spend some time on getting her Dialed in,,, but after it was very good on Gas.
On 92 or + octane my 302 600 edlebrock with 278 posi gears I get 20 on the highway. Around town ?? not so good with my foot in it!
