I went down with the Mav to see a guy at a Mustang place I know. When I was there, I saw a mid-90s Ranger. It was lowered, had duals, and some nice wheels. Another thing that was amazing was that it had a Grabber Hood. We talked with the owner, and apparently a guy had made one himself for his Ranger using the Mav hood as a donor for the scoops and ridges, and grafted them on a Ranger hood. He then sold this design to a company (Keystone) and now they sell them. The result is an awesome looking Ranger Grabber Hood that is fully functional. It looks sweet. I am attaching a pic I found on the internet. Seeing it in person was amazing! I was flabergasted. I always wanted to get a Ranger, throw in a 302, and lower it. Now if I ever have a chance (or the money) to do it, I am going to put this hood on. Enjoy! I still can't get over how it is almost exactly the same (except for the functionability)......

    hood

I was over my friends house and he was like nice hood when I showed him a grabber. now i am slightly strapped for cash and i like the comet scoop more, anyway he was like "wow todd, you should get that!" then I said Id rather put that 500 dollars toward a motor than a hood and he was like oh man. Just thought I would share

Don't listen to him Todd, styles change and so will your opinion on what looks good on your Mav, but going fast is always fashionable ;) .

I have a 4 cylinder Ranger for a winter vehicle. The extra drag created by those hood scoops will probaly limit my top speed to 75mph. Seriously, I have never had a slower vehicle. It has a dual plug head, and still is only rated at 100hp.

    100hp for a 3200lb vehicle is not a lot.

My dad has a '93 4-cyl stickshift ranger. Yeah, it's slow, but what a great truck! 30 MPG, 150k miles and it still runs like new. All he's ever done is change the fluids and belts. Last week I put a flasher in it, it's first unscheduled maintenence

I liked my 95 RAnger XL, bare bones stripper aside for power steering. It moved along pretty good with the 5spd, but once I hit a hill, it was back down to 3rd gear, and fast, or I was bogging all the way up. What I would like to see ford do with the ranger is make a standard cab, fiberglass box, 2wd, with the 4.0l, but you can't get it optioned like that, I may just bave to build one. I think that would move along pretty well
