i have a 71 302 2bbl. engine ,which is complete from flywheel to starter , and intake, and carb. i pulled it out of my wrecked 71 Comet gt 5 years ago , and it was a running motor then , with 65,000 miles on her.

If i was to sell this 71 302 2bbl complete motor , what would u ask for it , or what do u think the value is????? $$$$$$$$$$$ ???????

i don,t know if this is a regular 302 block or the so called stronger mexican 302 block ???// How do u tell???

i gussing old 68 -72 302 blocks are getting harder to find which might increase value $$$ ??? , but in this day of age u can buy all sorts of very strong aftermarket blocks....

Sadly, around here, you would probably be lucky to get $150 for it. You could try it on Craig'sList for a higher number or best offer and see what happens.

New and rebuilt engines and shortblocks have become really reasonable,,,Probably a coupla hundred bucks if you're lucky enough to find someone locally that needs one

The Mex blocks have two bolt bosses cast into the front walls of the block, one on each side below the cylinder heads. The casting numbers also ID them. And there's "Hecho en Mexico" cast into the lifter valley floor. The std 302 blocks from 68 to 79 are just as strong as the Mex blocks. The only difference the Mex blocks had over the std blocks were the thicker 289 Hi-PO main caps. The D8VE-A3A blocks also had these main caps. If it's complete, just as it came from the factory, you can sometimes get more for it by parting it out. But as a whole you'd be lucky to get $150-$200 for it.

In my experience, you can get as much for carb and heads as you can the whole engine. Throw it on CL for the price you'd like to get then drop it if you don't get any calls.

I've got two bare 302 blocks on there now, got a solid bite on both today at $100 each. (Knocking on wood as I type this)

I sold mine from the 72 this past weekend for 175.. He wanted it for 150 I was firm on 200 but we settled at 175 cuz i know I'd have it sitting around for a while to get rid of a 302.. There just too common.
