Hey all, I have a bug to do something so I am gonna get a duraspark from the salvage yard for my 1970 I-6 200. How hard are they to get out? I know where the distributor is and I have changed to points on mine but I have no idea what is behind there. Do I just get the distributor or do I need some box that I keep reading about? Heh, I guess I'm just looking for someone to write "Duraspark for dummies." Thanks everyone.

Rudy; I would opt for the Pertronix electronic upgrade. It is much better than the Duraspark, and it doesn't require replacing the distributer. It fits in your stock distributer. And, they only cost about $60. I think AutoKrafter, Jegs, Summitt has them. It took me about 15 minutes to replace the points in my stock distributer.
Good luck, let us know what you decide.

    Rudy,
Go to FordSix.com. There is a complete article on it. I don't know that Pertronix is any better than Duraspark, but I know that Duraspark is EXCELLENT for any engine that does not see over 6000 RPM...
