hello a 74 ford maverick was given to me by my uncle. she's kind of torn up inside and out but has a strong little engine. so i want to restore this car but my father looks at it and turns his head because we cannot find parts anywhere for it. and if my dad wont help me out with this i'm a sitting duck with a big hunk of metal, i'm only 16 and don't know to much about fixing cars.the last owner dropped a 71' f100 302v8 in it, just needs a clutch and tune up. but healso got into an accident and it smashed the front end in a little so the hood and everything is a bit tweaked. Now the inside was totally thrashed so we completely gutted it and just threw out the carpet, front bench seat, and a ****load of tar. haha. We had to Hot wire the car to get it over to the house, the starter in it is good just it needs to be plugged in. i just need some tips; websites, books, personal experience, whatever you think will help. i joined this website today so if i did something wrong posting this please let me know so i know. -thanks

...from Maconga, U.S.A...:Handshake I would take it one step at a time. from your discription, this will be a..."long term project"... what type of clutch system does it have? ...Frank...
Welcome from Mobile, Alabama! Great folks here on the forum who will point you in the right direction. Just about anything us new guys want or need to do to our cars, someone here has already done and can give advice on (like maybe sometimes "don't do it!"). This is a great place to learn from the experience and mistakes of others. Good luck!
Welcome to the board. Yeah post some pictures up as well, it helps everyone to be able to give you the best advice on what your doing. Otherwise its a shoot in the dark sometimes.
Welcome from northeastern Illinois. As mentioned earlier, take it one step at a time, esp., since ur car experience is limited.
Welcome from Redondo Beach! Tons of good info and great people on this board. Definitely helped me out!
