Any suggestions on removing paint from the tags? And still be able to read the tags.

I would try to VEEERRRYYY carefully scrape off paint with a blunt object...like a screwdriver. A razor might cut the decal. Paint stripper might eat it off.

Paint stripper will destroy the paper sticker. Paint solvents can remove the lettering right off the sticker. I would do as Craig recommended and try to remove as much of the paint as possible with something with a semi-sharp edge. I have used dulled down razor blades and a very light touch to remove some of the paint from stickers. It can be nearly impossible to remove all the paint from a sticker, so I would try to remove just the paint from the numbers and letters that you need to read.

Use a wire brush scraper edge. It came off the vin tag good. The tire tag smeared the letters a little. Thanks again.

Sometimes packing tape will pull the paint off the sticker.

Good ideal Dave. I know I'll need it again on another car.
