This is going to seem a little vage to some people but i have a 1970 200ci maverick. Now, where the gear change is on the collum it keeps droping back so it won't engage with the teeth so it can change gear on its own!!!! As i have found out. There should be a clip on the bottom of the shaft to stop this. Does anyone know what this is called and where i can get one from. Many thanks Mike

auto Changer on the column. In the manual the drawing of it looks like a little clip that goes underneath. But no name to this part

I hope so. I can see the part in the 1970 car preliminary shop manual by ford, but no name and not a lot of detail. I need the name so i can get one, trying to explain this over the phone is a nightmare. Thanks anyway.
