    Hey Guys,

I'm new to the forum and hoping someone can help me out. I've got a 1977 4DR, V-6, Maverick with a busted instrument cluster. The interior's tan. Any ideas on where I can get a good deal on a used/reman unit? Also, does any one know what years are compatible with my car? I heard somewhere that if you don't use one from the right year it won't work.

If anyone out there can help, I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Rusty

A '75 and up cluster should be a direct replacement in your car. '74 if you like the old style gauges better.

What's wrong with your current cluster?

He emailed me and it sounds like the white plastic has turned to dust.

That sounds typical of the later model years when they started using crappier plastics. I had the same problem.
On a different note, the wiring plug is different from '75-'77 when they eliminated the points ignition.

I may have a spare one lying around that I don't need.

Yup, that sound right. As soon as I touched it, it crumbled.

The same thing happened to the cluster in my 76. Luckily I have two more clusters, one 75 model and a 72 model.
