What do You Guys think? I just got off the phone with the nice lady at Crites and she tells me I can have a fiberglass grabber hood for 330.00 and three to four weeks lead time. I had one of these hoods on my 70 and I thought it was a nice hood. Mine got a corner crunched because my helper went to set it down like a steel hood upright and on the corners, other than that the weight savings alone made it a great hood.

you asked what we think so my opinion is if you want Fiberglass then go for it but if you want a quality Grabber hood that is not steel then you should email Maverickman and get one of his Carbon Fiber Grabber hood.
I do not speak from experience but I have heard some harsh things about Fiber glasss hood that are VERY poor quality and fitment is a big issue,

On the other hand I have also heard the Jimmy Gates had a fiberglass hood made and it is a Grabber "style" hood but has a cowl/riser between the Grabber scoops and it is supposed to be great quality and fitment wise

My 70 came with a Crites hood, It fit very well and the gelcoat was beautiful it used the hood hinges but not the latch but two hood pins. Between the x and I the car(with Hood)was driven about 18k mi and sat out all winter and still looked great. I have heard some people talking about bad fiberglass hoods and was just looking for others experiences. Good luck with your car Roger, Please let us know how your hood works out.

one: you don't need to paint it.

two: the fitment will be better then any fiberglass hood out there period.

three: by the time you paint and pay something to fix the fitment on your fiberglass one, it will cost more then getting the carbon fiber one in the first place.

four: my hood scoops actually have holes in them and are open unlike everyone elses.

    five: stronger then fiberglass

six: mine actually has a frame just like the OE one!

seven: don't like carbon you can still paint it!

Picked mine up today from crites. They were very nice people. The bodyshop guy said it looked like it would fit good. The only thing I didnt like was the "webbing" inside the bumps or whatever they are, were not very well defined. Looked almost like it had a skin over it and all the grids may need to be cut out..
