Hello to all you Maverick enthusists! I currently have a '78 Ranchero GT which I bought in 2000. I haven't been able to touch it in almost 3 years due to the fact is barely fits in my garage, much less having room to stand in front of it to work on it. I am really feeling the wrench bug, and I have decided to find a new home for my Ranchero, and start something new with something a little smaller that will actually fit in the garage with my tools. In looking through my options (limited to Ford in the 70's of course) I've decided the Maverick is the way to go. So don't be too hard on me as a Maverick newbie...I've been a Ford guy as long as I could hold a wrench. I guess my first question is were is the best place to look for a Maverick? I see them on Ebay, but all the cars on eBay seem to go for way too much $$$. I figure once I find a new home for the 'chero, I'm looking at spending about $1500-$2000 for a project with a decent start (I guess a clean body is my foremost factor...) Am I dreaming, or is it doable with a Maverick in my price range? If so, where are they hiding? Thanks Mike
You've came to the right place. Take a look through the classifieds. You should be able to find a decent project car in that price range. Heck, I know of a guy that had a real nice, mostly original '73 2 door for sale for $2,500 here in GA. I don't know if it's still for sale, but the deals are out there.
