While we were talking about car shows and cruises in another post here, it got me thinking. As we seem to regularly get questions about our Mavs/Comets that most others do not get, there are a few that ring common it seems. What are the most common questions you get about your car and Mavs in general?
You left out the 'Pinto' and 'Camero' comments that some people make. I guess that would fall under "What is it?".
I often get" I had one of those back in the day" Followed by "I sure do wish I would`a kept it". I`ve Never met one former Mavcom owner who didnt regret that they got rid of their car. KEEP `EM YA`ll !
#1 I (we, my mom, my dad, my uncle, my brother, etc) used to have one of those. #2 Haven't seen one of those in a while.
since I put my car in black rustoleom, everyone asks what color am I painting it, I just say it's staying the way it is for a long time, cheap, easy to touch up, and still looks damn good
I agree with Dan, it seems like the person usually saying it goes straight from the first comment straight into the second comment without taking a breathe.
All of them! I must admit that my car has never been called a Camero, but has been called a Pinto more times than I can remember.
I agree with the #1 and #2 that Dan posted. I would add that #3 would be 'Do you know of any for sale?' Dan
yeah i'd have to agree that the most often thing i hear is my (aunt-gramma-mom) so n so had one too! never heard of a man owning one though. geez i remember my dad test driving one in 72 with a 302. why he went for the nova with a 350 is beyond me!
With four daughters, there is an endless supply of other kids, moms, and dads coming by here in some fashion or another. I get "What kind of car is that?" more than any other question. I get that from the teenagers, the pre-teens, and the 20-something parents of the younger kids. The next comment is "Never seen one before." Gotta love it.
we get this all the time with my stepfather's 56 F100, "what year is that?" Then the next line is, "I have a 56 too" we know right off the bat that's an out right lie. 1953-1955 used all the same stuff minus the grill and gas tank filler, look very similar. The 56 has a shorter height cab, and wraparound windshield, very easy to tell a 56 from a 53-55. Some people just talk to hear themselves
was on the way to a show with my old ranchero. stopped at the gas station and a guy came over and told me what a great el camino i had.
