Air Conditioner

Hello all, I just bought a 75 Comet 6-cyl today. Everything works on the car except for the ac. To me, it looks like they just disconnected the wiring. What do I need to do to service this unit and get the car blowing cool again?

Also, is there a how-to guide out there that I could use? The limit of my knowledge is refilling the darn things.

Best to buy a service manual of some sort. Actually....probably best to hire an expert.

Depending on the issue, it can be quite expensive to get it all working. But....I feel it is worth it.

I would connect the wiring and see what it does. If you need some of the older freon let me know. I still have about 25 cans of it left.

Next question...where do I hook up the wiring to? Thank you for the offer, I've got a really good friend who's got a license for the stuff. Too bad it's so expensive.

Good news, I hooked it up and the ac compressor works. It just needs servicing. Thank you for the advice.
