My dad built this model back in 1993 when he was still building his Comet. I actually completely forgot about it until earlyer this morning I was out in the garage looking for something and found it at the very back of a top shelf covered in dust.

Here's what the real car ended up looking like. http://www.5hp.hill.cc/hotrod/page8/

He also completely custom built the back half of the car hauler out of a sheet of plastic, but unfortunately it's starting to fall apart. It used to have running boards and lights and stuff but they fell off.

He told me he still has some more unfinished Comet models put up somewhere he might be intrested in selling.

Thought you guys might like to see the model.

Jamie; I remember seeing that car running around Conyers and the surrounding area when I lived in Stockbridge. That was about 5yrs ago. Sweet car! Do you know where it resides now?

Earl, we used to go all over the place in that car to car shows and all kinds of stuff. Car was repainted at Omni Graphics in Conyers in 1998 and the wheels were changed. It looked like this then.

My dad sold it in 2001, not sure where it's at now. I don't think the guy he sold it to still has it. The VIN# is 1K31F566043, may be some way to track it to whoever it's registered to now? Sure miss it.

Dad did a great job on that!
But, he seems to have forgotten the headers?

I hope that you can find the Comet.

Jamie; that is how I remember the car. I always thought the Weld wheels were very nice on the car. BTW, might get a policeman to run the vin and see who is the registered owner. A bit shady, but it works. See you in a few weeks.

Man, that thing is awesome! I probably wouldn't know it wasn't real if you didn't tell me.

My dad used parts of all kinds of diffrent models, he has a shoe box full of wheels, tires, seats, and all kinds of little odds and ends, but I agree the body looks the same. Great job! (y)

i haven't in the last 2 years.. i just haven't had the time. i've built quite a few of them.. even imports with v8s tub etc. if i get some time i take a few photos..

jamies dads one is quite cool though i can see the work that was put into it. james' tell you dad (y)

hum i'll work on the smoke...might need a bigger engine though :p the picture could have been a bit clearer but i never bothered to fix it. but it will do.

yeah this car was done like your dads.. i used about 5 differant model kits to get it the way it looked. its got a SOHC in it with supra seats a dana rear end and a linco 5 speed :p one day my car will be there lol!
