MY 1970 mavericks transmission pan has a hole in it and all the oil i put in it leaks out. i was looking for one here on the internet and I came across Dearborn Classics. com It is a website with nothing but Ford car parts, but there is no Maverick. There is torino, fairlane, falcon, ranchero, galaxy, and comet. I found a transmission pan for a c-4 transmission. This is the transmission the Maverick has right? the automatic column shift? Its 24.99 which is a really good price. Will this transmission pan fit my transmission, does it need a gasket? I cant find a gasket on this website sowhere can i find a gasket? and lastly, how do you install it? Is it as easy as just unbolting the old transmission pan and bolting on the new one? thanks alot people

I'd just go to a junkyard and pick one up for a couple of bucks. A pan from any case fill C4 will work. You will need a new gasket, and yes, it's as simple as unbolting the old and bolting on the new one and torqueing the bolts to 15 ft. lbs.

any c-4 pan will fit as long as, like jamie said, it is a case fill pan. there is also a pan that has a fitting screwed into the side. this was usually used in trucks.:)

It will work, but I personally think $25 for a stock pan and a 10-20 day wait on top of that is a complete rip off. I can get one for $4.95 at my local Pull-A-Part.

Hell I have two of them hanging on the wall in my shed. PM me your address and I'll send you one for the price of shipping.

Ohh, the part number for the gasket is Fel-Pro #TOS18634. They will ask you if you want cork or rubber. I prefer rubber on everything, but the O.E.M. was cork.
