Ive got a turbo 5.0 out of a lincon mark VIII that i want to drop in my maverick.

Does anyone know of an aftermarket wiring harness i can use to make the installation a little easier ?

How about a little more application info, sounds like a strange setup. Mark VIIIs had 4.6L engines, Ford never had a factory turbo 5.0L. Does it still have a Ford-style EFI system on it?

I'm going to guess it will not fit unless you make major modifications to the front end. The 4.6 is much wider than a 5.0! Basically, if a 4.6 will fit so will a 460. At that point, go with the big block! Remember, on the 4.6 the cams are on top of the heads. A totally different creature than the old push rod engine!

    Thanks ...

Yeah i know its going to be a job ... But i think im going to go with a mustang II front end... Itll be snug but not too bad...

I like the 4.6 and with the turbo in a maverick its gonna be a guick little car ... I dont plan on racing ( Too much lol ) and the thought of the trouble free performance plus the deal i got on the turbo 4.6 i really couldnt pass it up ...

Oh by the way i talked to Painless a little while ago and they said they can do a partially custom harness that plugs right into the lincon " Brain"

Sounded fairly simple but you know how that goes :)

Ok, well there has never been a 4.6L turbo either (OEM), so what exactly is the deal with this thing? Is it a custom job?

    Yeah

Its a custom job ... But the more i look into it i think im going to hold off on the turbo for now, its a little over my head and the cost is just too much .... Im looking into superchargers ... The instalation seems to be a little easier and its a little bit cheaper...

Im still going with the 4.6... I got a deal on the motor and i really couldnt pass it up
