    Good job, Dan. Unfortunately, I remember those commercials. I wish I could say that they were before my time. :cry:

    Did anybody recognize the guy in the second clip, on the bicycle? I believe that was the guy that played Cpl. Doyle on the Gomer Pyle USMC show.

    HELLACOOL! The only one I really remember is the little cougar ad. But that isn't saying much, cause my memory is slipping so fast that pretty soon I'll be able to hide my own Easter eggs.

    Could be. Gomer Pyle USMC made it's debut in 1964. I was six; can't remember everything.

    Back in the early 90's I found a company called Custom Automotive Nostaliga Video (that is what it says on the tape anyway). Not sure if I found them at Carlisle or Hemmings. I ordered a Ford Video ( It has many Ford commericals from 56 to 78) ... I also made sure to tell him I want anything Maverick or Comet he had - that is why I got the AMC training video HORNET vs. MAVERICK - also includes VW BUG vs GREMLIN. It came on an ordinary looking VHS tape with everything hand written on the label including the company name.

    What I did today was pop the tape in my VCR and copy the Maverick commercials to my DV camcorder. From their I just brought the DV video into my Mac, edited it with iMovie and exported it as a Quicktime Video .... Took about 20 minutes ...

    FYI - the Mustangs commercials are much better than the Maverick commercials. It seems that the Maverick commercials always tried to be light-hearted and whimsical.
