Manual Steering Gearbox kits?

    I'm having a hard time finding seals and/or a full rebuild kit for a manual steering gearbox. I'm converting from PS to manual and found that my manual box leaks at both seals. Napa can only get the lower seal. I know I could probably go to a seal supply and get the upper, but I wondered if anyone has run into the same issue. :huh:

    I took mine to a local place that rebuilds them. Even if you want to rebuild it yourself, they can probably get you the parts. Check your local yellow pages.

    Was it cheaper than buying one already rebuilt?

    I dont remember and I cant find my receipt, but I'm thinking it was around $125.

    2 71 grabbers,72 Maverick , son has a 73 maverick
    if all else fails , get the lower seal...the upper wont leak THAT much..and you can always fill er up if it gets low..it would probably be a slow process

    If you are going from PS to manual keep your PS box. It just has a better ratio.

    I figured with a V8 and 15 inch tires it might be fairly stiff with an auto box... but not sure, because I haven't tried yet. :huh:
