Need suggestions (HELP) with installing new non-Mav bucket seats (scared to respond?)

Honda Accord seats, really nice and clean, from an 88 model.

I installed the driver side, and it is straight, level, and tight. But, I am not impressed with the makshift brackets I made. Also, when I sit on it, the frame rail on the right side twists just a little, and makes the sliding movement of the seat forward and backward tough, like it is binding or rubbing.

Please suggest ways to install these seats.

I was thinking cutting away all the curves and bolt/weld a straight square tube I have to both sides. The tube is 1"square, and hollow, with bolt holes each 2" or so on all 4 sides. Picture a metal tube, squished flat on all sides to make it square, then drill holes along the length.

I figured that if I could square up the rails, and reinforce them with the square tubing, get the seat so that it would sit on a flat surface with all the rails touching the ground. Then I could position the seat in the car, use washers or spacers of some sort, and bolt straight down.

this is what i di when i put seats from an 80's model thunderbird in mine....(they are electric)

i had to put a 1x1 square tubing across the front for the mounting and to keep the motor and gear from hitting the floor.... i welded it in place in a good spot for travel... i welded it in place and then i drilled holes through it and put a bolt through....then i drilled holes through the back holes and put bolts....

the makeshift brackets (as you call them) ....if they are binding....then find out exactly where they are binding and remake them or modify them.....

anyhting can be done if you have a welder and some time...just take your time and dont commit anything until you know it works....

and remember....seats are very important...make it strong

    hope this helps...

I have 1x1 square tubing, with holes drilled on all four sides up throughout the length. Maybe I can mount that down level, and straighten out the existing brackets from the Honda, and mount them down to the tubing...?
