It's taken almost 6 months to pull this off, but I've been driving the Mav around the neighborhood the last few nice days. Mustang II install and a spare 429. I put on a Stanley front end alignment today (Stanley level and tape measure).

The project is as done as it is going to get right now. Got to move on to other things other than toys. The motor will eventually have to come back out for two reasons: 1) to finish grinding off a few welds and making it look nice. 2) Engine healing - its wounded. It should last thru a couple of test-n-tune appearances, but it has problems that are not going to get better on their own. Nevertheless, it's official, runs and drives and will be able to run some races.....going to enjoy for a while. :)

Dude, I love the mail box! :biglaugh: :thumbs2: I'd get a metal one and have it chromed, then put "429 4V" in mail box letters like you can get at Home Depot. (y)

I've got a 429 4V/C6 in a '71 LTD that just might end up in my '74 Grabber when it gets the Mustang II front end. Haven't decided yet.

Thanks guys...The job turned out better than I expected it. The cooling is better than I expected too. It was 75 here last Thursday. I really can't tell much difference from it and the 302. I really need to jet the carb down a couple of sizes....that might raise the temp some.

I had the hood on and it fits good with the 2-1/2" spacers between the hinge (po' mans cowl induction hood) I ran last year. I'm just going to leave the hood off and run the paper tube while I'm dinkin' with it. People don't know what to think about it...... :49: :hmmm: :coco: I kind of like it. It looks a little grungy and matches the primer.

Good job dude! I love seeing cars that were never built by the factory...especially when they say it can't be done! Mine is a 466" hyd cam torque monster. 13.0 with 3.00:1 gears. Yers'll be a rocketship!!
