This has been driving me mad for a few months.

A high pitched squeek, almost bird-chirping high pitched metal-to-metal sounding.

I have no carpet, and one hollow door with no window or paneling, so this intensifies it.

I once had a squeek from the suspension but only when I was going up and down driveways or bumps, and lubed it up and it went away. This one seems to squeek the entire time I am moving, even slowly. Doesn't seem to make any noise while running and sitting still.

It is hard to pinpoint where it is coming from, but sounds like behind or INSIDE the dashboard (I removed all the quarters from my ashtray to eliminate that option). Steering wheel and column has been completely disassemled and lubed and reassembled, so likely not a steering issue.

Worse, it is not always there. Either is is squeeking constantly when I drive, or it won't squeek at all.

Has anyone encountered this? and if so, how did you fix it?

Have someone ride along and press on parts of the dash as it is happening to isolate the noise.

I had a similar issue in my Grabber ... one of my exhaust hangers was loose ... tightened it up and sqeak went away ...

I've had to lube my sway bar bushings before. The twisting effect caused squeeking so I removed them and lubed them (on the contack surfaces especialy) with sil glide. I use sil glide cause it doesn't harm rubber. Now I use sil glide on all my rubber contack points, works wonders and doesn't wash off easily:D . Good luck and let us know(y)

Upper A frame bushings squeek like that. Noise travels and is sometimes hard to pinpoint.

Are those the ones with the 90 degree zerk that are so hard to reach, near the coil springs?

Those are the ones I originally lubed when it was squeeking on the bumps.

I guess, now that I think about it, I should grease the entire chassis and suspension to rule out all those noises...easy fixes first, then look for inside noises, like dash, seats, etc.

How often are you supposed to grease everything? the last time I greased was after shock tower cuts, about a year ago, maybe 500 miles driving time.
