Today my sisters friend dropped her car off since i promised to change her pads and shoes. As i was changing the rear shoes a bronco pulls up and a man got off and asked if my dad was home. And i told him he was still working, then he asked me "what are you doing on the maverick?" and i told him "how did you know its a maverick?".Since i had the bumper and hood off its hard to tell its a mav. Then he said "i thought it was a 75?"and i told him it was.and he said "its got the wrong stoneguard" and then i told him how i switched the bumpers. Then he told me that he used to own it.As far as i knew it had been sold to my dad by my unlce who bought it from my neighbors nephew, but he said that he bought it from my neighbors nephew and sold it to my uncle. he told me he changed the engine 3 times. he had put two 302 in there then a 240or 260 then he told me he helped my uncle put the 289 in there(which it still has).he also said he changes the tranny and rear gears but the doesnt remeber which ones. Then he said he'd give me $1500 for it. And i told him thanks for the offer but i'm not selling it.I told him that theres a 4 door for sale a few blocks away but he said he only liked 2 doors.I have had many people talk about my maverick while its sitting in my yard...cant wait to hear the stories when i get it on the road.....maybe i'll find the original arizona owner.
That's pretty cool, would be strange to have some random person pull up and say they used to own your car like that.
if you know how to get in touch with him, direct him to the for sale board here. he may find something he wants....
yeah i'll ask my dad for his phone number This guy is loaded with money...i'll be cool to see him work on a mav...should have taken pics of his bronco
