How does the windshield and rear window trim come off on a 72 2dr grabber? does it just pop off? Slide Off? I dont want to bend my trim..

    Thanks,
    Chaz...

You need a special tool that slides under the trim, and pries the little spring-loaded clips that hold them on. Tool looks like a T, about 8" long, has a plastic handle. You should be able to get them at automotive paint store, around $10.

OR there is a screw at each corner of the trim remove those and it should slide off starting with the bottom.

I found a pair of pliers ( for lack of a better word) with hooked jaws, it pinches the clip and pops it off smoother than the "t" hook tool
    just my .02 bout $15

There is one screw at the bottom corners, but the rest requires the clip removers. I can post a picture of the remover if you need me to. PM me with your address and I will email the picture to you, rather than waste my upload space on the forum.

I just removed all of my glass and also didn't know exactly how to remove the trim. I used a screw driver and a very small pry bar and got it all off without as much as a scrape mark. I did leave all of the clips behind though. There was so much caulking behind the trim that the clips were buried in there. I guess I just got lucky.

    Here is what I have.

The clips are held steady by the adhesive, but should be replaced if you take the trim off. I have reused them, but also lost a chunk of trim on the highway because of it.

To use this thing, you slip one end or the other under the trim, slide it until you feel a clip, then pry behind the clip in an up-and-forward motion to press against the "spring-loading" of the clip, while pulling gently on the trim. Once you get a couple of clips released, you can usually slide the trim part off the remaining clips without having to use the pry-tool.

I have 4 or 5 sets of clean trim if anyone needs any. PM me...

I got mine from a local automotive paint shop. If you cannot find one, PM me and I will get one and ship it to you for cost plus shipping (and a little more just for gas and packaging:D )
