I just recived my JC Whitney leaf springs and the rear bushings are too small 15/16 for the 1 1/8 spring eye.
Where can I get the correct bushings,do mustang bushings fit? Also where can I get solid aluminum front bushings for a" bellcrank style" traction device?

My JCW 4 leafs also had larger than stock rear spring eyes. I know the early Mustang are larger so I bought a set at Carlisle a few days ago. I hope to put them in this coming weekend. I will let you know.

Hmmm ... has JCWhitney started shipping Mustang leaf springs to fill Maverick orders? I know the springs I bought last year from JCW used the correct Maverick bushings ...

My JCW springs were a direct swap, except 4 leaf rather than 3....:hmmm:

Autokrafters bushings were perfect...I also bought stock shackles.

My bushings were too small for the JCW springs also. Just installed them anyway. So I should get the mustang bushings.

The stock bushings just seem to be verry sloppy and I want a good tight fit to prevent wheele hop and excess body roll. If i need to I will get someone to fab solid aluminum,I will. Or find some 1 1/2" poly and turn them down for a tight fit. Am I being too critical here? or is that kind of sloppy fit normal? I want to do it rite the FIRST time!

Yes, JCWhitney is shipping the springs, but they are not Mustang springs. I guess I should say that John R Spring is drop-shipping the springs. Anyway, I just got mine and I have the same problem. The bushings seem too small and are a little sloppy. I may need to order a different size too.

I dont think your being too critical. I also installed the stock bushing and they were real loose. I had totally forgotten about them and at last years Roundup, I had major wheel hop problems. I had never had this problem before so I'm hoping it was the bushings.

OK, I just went out and pulled my shackles out. The Mustang ones I bought was too big. They were 1 5/16" with a 9/16" hole. I measured my springs at 1 1/8" with a 1/2" hole. Guess I'll keep looking.

I have some on back order from Auto Krafters, shouldn't be too long (I hope)

More bad news. I talked to ESPO and they said there are no cars that use a 1 1/8" bushing with a 1/2" hole. They do have 2 bushing listed with 1 1/8" but the holes are 5/8" or 3/4" Anyone else have any ideas?

Use bigger bolts and drill out the shackles? I just measured my JCW springs I got last year and the hole is just a few thousandths over 1". That's the correct size eyelet not the oversize one right?

My eyelets are a hair under 1 1/8". If nobody comes up with a bushing, I will probably get the 1 1/8" with the 3/4" hole. Then have a machine shop make me 1/2" to 3/4" bushings out of aluminum or something.

That's a good idea. I wonder if somewhere like Fastenal would already have a bushing like this.
