Alright i have a 75 ford maverick 2 door. Got a new radiator and shes still having heating problems. I was told that a fan shroud would help alot. And i just realised how much air from the fan is just blowing away from the radiator cause i dont have one. I havent been able to find one. Does anyone know where i could buy one or from what other car it would fit(interchange parts)
Somtimes they show up on ebay or post in the parts wanted section here. Someone may have one. Yes they do help a lot. Also make sure the thermostat is working and the radiator cap is holding pressure. There is a test they can do on the cap.
If it overheats at idle a shroud will help. If it overheats while driving it's probably something else ...
Well I picked up a one of them Tarus fans last week but turns out it was 5 or so inches deep and I only have about 3 1/2 inches to work with on my V8. It is a really nice fan though.
I used one first, and had to mount it off to one side to clear the water pump pulley. Went back to the junk yard and found another one from a small chevy car, I wish I remembered what it was. Still using it today. Also, Autozone sells thin fans with shrouds that should fit with no problems. I think they are $40-60 price range.
flex-a-lite black magic elec fan...its more than a taurus fan but that thing will suck a cat through your radiator if ones unlucky enough to stand in front fo your car when the fan turns on
I searched on Autokrafters and couldn't find a shroud for the maverick. Any other shroud that will work?
There is a thread that shows how to make that Taurus fan work, and it looks great. I will try and find it...
