Any one ever have to have their wheel(s) fixed? I have a bent deep dish aluminum slot wheel that has been causing me to go through axle bearings and seals. I don't feel any vibration till I get it up to about 35 and worsens the faster I go. It is fairly deep and I really do like the look of it. Check out the site and share your opinions or thoughts if you feel. Pictures will come soon... http://www.fixrim.com/WA/basic/index.php
looks like a place that can do the job... we have a place in town that does them..Hubcaps and Wheels. ...Frank...
I had one machine straightened on my Taurus. A body shop did it. Cost me $90. No more problems. Cheaper than a new one. Seth
I kissed a curb once in some snow. I did replace the axle but didn't replace the wheel cause I so desperatly want to keep them. This was about 15 years ago and now I can have it fixed . All these years I have been keeping my eyes open for a replacement. I know I could buy a new wheel but that would mean probobly changing to a different style too. Then that would mean 4 new wheels. Not that I wouldn't mind 4 new wheels even if different, I just can't see me spending that kinda money on my car that isn't on the road...yet.
Just make sure you have a written quote,,, Ford factory truck wheel was outrageous on repair. Nice work they do but don't assume repair cost, get it in writing!
Ended up getting both rear checked and of course they said both were bent . Was kinda expensive at $135.00 ea! :16suspect... But they spun them for me on a balancer and I didn't see any wauble wauble. The edges are like new also. I will probobly get something else if I have any more problems out of these. I thought they were wider than they realy are. They are 14x10 and I thought more like 13s looking at them with the tires mounted. Now I will be rolling the lips of the fenders (rear), hadn't done that yet.
Them are sure some nice looking center caps Hope those wheels fit under the car, I love the deep dish look
They fit. I have been running these for most of the years I have had the car. I remember getting them at a flea market for $40 ea. And yea, the center caps are bling The fronts aren't as wide but I am able to run the 245 50s.
The center caps were over $100 ea tho... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-...011QQitemZ320217749508QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW So it's like over $300 each rear, before tires . BUT I think it will look awsome once it comes together. I just need to stay away from curbs
