that was susposed to say life and times. not live and times. so anyways here we go.

Im in the middle of several projects on the mav. But fist ill give some history on it.
I bought it for 750 from a friend. It’s a 72 grabber. It had a 302 that my friend had put in that he had got for $500. He had just put in, drove it around the block (open header) parked it then when off to highway patrol academy. A year later he sold the car to me. I got the car it cranked but didn’t start and didn’t have any brakes. So I put a master cylinder in and found that the fuel pump had gotten stuck.
The car was grabber blue from the factory but had been painted a metallic blue. It had some poorly fixed quarter panels and the roof had a wrinkle all the way around it from being collapsed and pushed back out. The interior had two 70s Lincoln bucket seats held in by one bolt each.

After I got it running and stopping I took it to my friend’s muffler shop and go two 40 series flowmaster put on dumping at the 8" axle. I ordered up some kirkey drag racing seats and put them in. I lowered the front by cutting the springs and then took it for alignment. One of the guys at the alignment shop said that he had a maverick that he had pulled the drive line and suspension off of, and did I need anything off it. He gave me the body for free. Its interior was trashed. It had some body work done to it but was allot straighter than my car was. So I transferred everything from the blue car over to it. While I did that I built a new 302 for it, had the c4 rebuilt and hopped up. I put a currie 9" for a 65 mustang that a customer had decided not to use.
I put a 15 gallon fuel cell in the truck with an optima battery. I ran a 1/2" alum. Fuel line up to the motor. Using an edebrock elec. pump after trying a Mallory and a Holley pump in and having problems with them.
so heres some pics of the cars progression.

it had them now it has the blue cars doors with blue panels. the green panels had be ripped off before i got it. its not a clean car up close but its geting there. the things i do to it are done with cleaning it up and making it nice, but right now the body had some dents and stuff. i figure that in about 5 years it should be really clean.

    Cool car.

What is the tallest gears you can get for a 9". I know Lincoln Versailles came with 2:50's but I have not been able to find a set with that ratio.

the mods to the car are as follows:
    motor
302 roller block with domed pistions. it has factory heads that have some extensive port work and biger valves. its got a ford racing f303 cam, hooker headers, wyand stealth intake, with holley 600cfm dp. carb. it has mizier elec water pump, escort elec. fan, and a summit universal alum radiator. i use a 3g alt with with serpintien belt. the starter is a 93 mustang starter (the smaller, lighter, stronger one ford switched to in the 90s.

the trans was rebuilt for performance. it has a shift kit, high pefromance frictions, and a 2700 rpm hughes conveter.

the diff is a 9". its 31 spline, has a detroit locker and 4.57 gears.

the front springs are just cut and have 90/10 drag shocks. its manual stearing with a power stearing box. the front tires are 165r15s on weld draglites. the rears are 275/60r15 also on draglites.

i have a 15 gallon fuel cell in the trunk along with 3 gallon fuel cell for the nitrous system. there is a optima battery with taylor box in the trunk. there is also the nitrous bottle.

the car is painted satin black. its a grabber, so it has the hood, sport mirrors, and spoiler. the front bumper is tucked in about an inch. i have a custom grill medalion made by mavmike here on the board.

the interior has 8 point cromoly cage, kirky alum. seats, b&m pro ratchet shifter, and a grant stearing wheel, custom alum dash with autometer gages and an alpine stereo

that pretty much is every thing.
