Another member on here wants to buy the comet hood trim from me and I have to ship it. I am not sure how to build a container for it. I've shipped a bunch of stuff before but am not sure on this

Yeah, shipping tube if you have one.
My friend regularly ships this type of item and he used to use a section of PCV pipe, now he gets the old tubes from a carpet store. Gets them free.

I just bought a hood trim off ebay - and they shipped it in a really heavy duty box that pool cues are shipped in. I thought that was cool. If you have a place near you that sells pool cues - stop in and see if they have any discarded shipping boxes you could have.

Otherwise, I've used the triangular Priority Mail shipping tubes and PVC pipe for longer stuff like rocker mouldings. All worked well.

    :)

A Comet lip molding would take a really big tube. You can use sturdy cardboard, just make a triangular box instead of a square one. Its way stronger than a square one and nothing can be stacked on top of it anyway. I've made them to ship grills and have never had one broken yet.

tape it to a piece of styrofoam before you put it in the box.
