just got my 999 reports in for 3 of my cars; my blue '71, my '73 Grabber and my '73 4dr. here's what i found out.... my blue 71's options: -Grabber blue lower with white upper exterior paint color -knit and vinyl interior trim scheme -bucket seating (incorrect as my car came with a bench seat) -black interior trim -c4 autmatic -conventional rear axle -power steering -6.45x14/B white sidewall tires -manual air conditioning -interior and exterior decor group -appearence protection group -AM radio -complete tinted glass -build completion on 6/30/1971 my 73 grabber's options: -Light gold exterior paint color -vinyl interior trim scheme -bench seating -ginger interior trim -black vinyl top -c4 autmatic -conventional rear axle -power steering -DR70x14/B white sidewall tires -front and rear bumper guards -AM radio -build completion on 2/08/1973 my '73 4dr's options: -Bright green gold metallic exterior paint color -vinyl interior trim scheme -bench seating -black interior trim -c4 automatic -conventional rear axle -power steering -c78x14/B white sidewall tires -convenience group -bumper protection group -floor mats -AM radio -interior and exterior decor group -appearence protection package -build completion on 1/08/1973 All of these cars are V8 cars. i think it's neat that my 4dr was produced exactly 30 days to the date before my Grabber at the same assembly plant in Kansas City. just thought i would share this info.
That is cool, i still have not gotten mine. I put a request in 3 years ago,but i never called them like i was supposed to. lol
im looking for a set of black ones if anyone has any. i remember what they look like but mine disappeared some yrs ago
Another member here "koopstamaverick" has a '69.5 that I helped him do a V8 swap in last year. I checked the door tag on his car and his VIN ends in 167167. The VIN on my '69.5 ends in 167193. Only 26 units apart. Both cars rolled down the St. Thomas assembly line on the same day, July 16, 1969. I thought that was crazy when I first figured it out. I think Ray Parrish has two that are even closer then that.
Not necessarily, they were serial number close to each other (the order was entered into the computer) but cars were not 1,2,3,4 off the line, it was all explained in "Legendary Fords" magazine a few years ago. But!! I still have the lowest know serial numbered 73
They have the same date code stamped into the door tags. I might challenge you on that lowest 73. What's your VIN end in? I've got a '73 4 door that ends in 100945.
Well, mine isn't registered, but it runs and drives. I drove it from Charlotte, NC to Blue Ridge, GA the day I bought it.
I'm out there on the '73 numbering. I called Ford late yesterday and requested the 999 reports for a few of my cars. It was easy to request it. No wait and she knew exactly what I was talking about.
Also known as a Vehicle History Report directly from Ford. It contains such as mean_maverick's first post in this thread:
I've heard a little about those reports, not much though.Aren't they like the marti reports? how much do they cost? i may get one for my mav. and how far back do they go? any chance of getting one on a 57 Ford? Sorry for all the questions, but i dont like reading about them and not really knowing about them other than it tells you about the car.
