Anyone ever seen or heard of anyone adapting the tail lights from a 1970 or 1971 Torino GT to a Maverick? I think it would look great but I am sure that it would take some fabrication.

I cheaked with a guy who had one on ebay and it was couple or 3 inches too wide and he also said that it had a bow in it that it would be high in the center if laid flat on floor with ends touching floor, it would have to be spliced in center to shorten it so the bow could maybe be removed then also, I was thinking of doing it but the bid got too high. I have seen one photoshopped to give the same look and liked it!

I don't think these are what he was looking for. Torino GT honeycomb lights! There is a pic somewhere on this sight with a car that has the taillights from a GT. The GT honeycomb lights go all the way across and have a honeycomb web on top of the lens.

Those last pictures are what I had in mind. Doesn't look like I was hoping for it to look like. To much space around the whole thing I guess, that and the angles don't match. Oh well, just goes to show you that there's not much that hasn't bee tried.

    Anyway, thanks for the help.

Yes, RadMav, perhaps a better excecution of it all would make all the difference. Maybe by blacking out the rear panel. Keeping the center fill gas cap would be essential. Fishoutofwater, the tail panel on your Maverick looks good -with what Caprice lights?

Thanks, they're Mercury Bobcat tail lights. Basicly a Maverick tail light with a big reflector next to it.

Unless you do a little modding to them:

Just for reference I have the Torino GT tail light and it measures 66" at the widest point. The one on that maverick has been modified to fit. The reflective part has 7 honey combs that one has 5. BTW it's setting in my garage for the next maverick project (wagon) :D
