I just got my AC unit but not sure what wires go where. The Compressor has a black wire comming off of it, and the Interior Unit has a Blue, Black and Orange wire... As you can see the Orange wire is attatched to "A" black wire Im assuming the orange wire powers the motors (i didconnected the orange and black wire and put 12V to the black wire and the motors started to spin). (why orange to black? Got me, unless that isnt right? the connectors fit and theey were plugged in when i got the unit) can someone tell me what the black and blue wire is for???

    Thanks!
    Chaz.

BTW!!! Someone wouldnt happen to have any nicer chrome knobs would they??

I cant find Diddley Squat this ARA A/C, except it was made in Grand Prarire, TX. ONLY thing i found was that the Opal GT's were equiped with them. But that done do me no good.. As far as Getting it. I got it from a user on here, I just took it apart and cleaned it up and repainted the black shell, almost loooks like new, if it wasnt for the chrome pieces...

Are the 3 wires in the harness all going to the blower switch?

Is the black wire in the main body going to the blower motor? If so, is there a second wire coming out of the motor and if so, where does it go?

Is there any night lighting on the panel?

Is the second knob a heat/cool selector and if so, is it mechanically linked to the main housing?

Do you know how to use a multimeter to check continuity?

    No backlight.
the switches are 1. Speed of the motor and the 2nd is just a Tstat.

Heres a pic, i havent opened it up to see the inside.

Yeah, i know how to use a volt meter.

Im thinking 1. ground 2. power 3. goes to the compressor?

    Chaz.

If all the wires go to the first switch, I would check continuity between the wires at the different switch position. Is it a multi speed fan?
