Hello, I am Dana Miller from Stockbridge Ga. I have been tinkering with a 1974 Comet that has been in my family since it was new. I am excited that I found this forum. I have been looking around for ages to find out more information and help me get my car back together. I have attached some pics for you all to see!

Hello Dana and :Welcome: from Northeast Pennsylvania - if you've been looking for ages for info on getting your car restored, you've come to the right place. :Handshake

Your Comet looks like a solid starting point - might need a hood if the rust doesn't come off. Your Explorer looks like a twin to my own - 2001 model? :)

Dana, I've used these 3M velcro backed paint remover pads to strip every inch of paint from my car if you want to give it a try. It might cost you 20 bucks the first time but you're buying an arbor and a disc together. Then each single disc costs around 10 bucks.

You can see from the photos how it works. :thumbs2:

:Welcome:to the board.... Nice to see that the Comet has been kept in the family. I see you have a Comet GT grill. I'm sure you can find a GT hood scoop...

Welcome Dana from Douglasville, Ga., also the Ford Show and Shine is going to be at Summit in McDonough near you July 24th and last year I think we had like 13 Mavericks and Comets there, even if you dont bring the car come and meet everyone and you can get a ton of advise from the guys there. They have extreme amount of knowledge on these cars.
