I have a 6 point and really like how rigid the car feels and am considering to next have rollcage completed. The builder recommended to have the front bars going down and pass right before the dash. He said he can have it stick forward enough for me to be able to use the light switch. Other option is to have it go through the dash, but that's gonna be more expensive. anyone with any pics of either method? also, will I be able to remove the dash later?

Why a full cage? It would just be in my way. I figure I would do a 6 point in mine. I like to keep it street-able. With a halo and all that is included you run the risk of beating your head up pretty good with the slightest of accidents when not wearing a helmet. Also, those dash bars you are talking about reduce visibility at the pillars.

no you will not be removing your dash if you go that way .But IMO it looks a lot cleaner and no it does not (if installed correctly) get in you site line .
That is how I ran mine threw the dash

its important that I be able to remove and install my dash after the cage is in because I'm forseeing lots of changes to the car. So sounds like the bars need to run through the dash since that would be the easier way to be able to install and remove the dash as I please.

I feel like a full cage would add some rigidity and from what I read protects me more should there be an accident on the road or on the track.

I know the windshield has to be out to remove the dash.

    1. can I reuse the gasket if it's less than one year old?
    2. what the general procedure for removing the windshield?

I wanted my A-piller bars to be as tight to the pillar as I could get them. One of our good members here sent me a dummy dash for just the shipping charges and I got to work on it. The route I wanted to go from the floor plate, up under the dash, clearing the headlight switch and still running tight to the pillar caused me to bend it up in 2 pieces and weld in a steel sleeve to connect both pieces. It also made me get creative where the bars meet the halo. I'll made templates of the dummy dash to transfer to my good dash so it should come out to be a nice tight fit.
