I need some info on this piece that came out of my heater box. The rusty piece was lying on the AC coil.
Does anyone have any idea what it is or why it's there?
I have no idea what it's for and it's to rusty to put back.

FINAL UPGRADE ON THE BOX B4 RE-INSTALL.
The spout broke off at the box base where the condensation exits the box. I used some .350" brass tubing silver soldered to thin brass flat stock, shape to the base contour and glassed in. I am sure the spout wll not break there unless subjected to an inordinate amount of stress. Don't want to do this but once.

I believe it is there to keep stuff that does go into the cowl vents from getting into the AC evaporator.

I thought that's what it might have been the reason it was there. I wonder why steel instead of alum?:hmmm: I have some alum gutter guard I will replace it with.
    Thanks for ur opinion.

I probably have that piece if you need it.
