Barry Poole's '72 Comet Pro Stock drag car

Motormouth sent me a picture of Barry Poole's '72 Comet Pro Stock drag car. Here is some more info about it.

Quote:
The picture was taken at the '72 A.H.R.A. Winternationals held at Beeline Dragway in Scottsdale, Arizona. Barry was one half of the "Border Bandits" along with John Elliot, both former N.H.R.A Super/Stock national event champions & record holders both driving S/S Mustangs. Just a bit of drag-racing history. The race car '72 Comet Pro Stock powered by a 427c.i. Ford big block w/2 four's, built & tuned by Barry himsel

One minor correction is that it was a 429 Cobra jet not a 427. Since i have met Barry i have been a real Boarder Bandits fan.Heres some of my collection.

Another correction, Beeline Drag way actually sits on the Pima Indian Reservation off Beeline Highway (next to Snobsdale) I used to race MX at Beeline Moto-X park in the 70s. My brother would race my folks 7 ltr Galaxie at the midnight drags after my races were over. The last time I was by there the remnants of the track could still be seen. It was also NHRA sactioned one of the few dual sanctioned tracks BITD
