Hey Guys, can anyone suggest a good chrome plating outfit in north Florida or surrounding areas. I would really like to have my 71 maverick bumpers chromed before I install them on the 76. What is the average cost to get a small bumper re chromed? And what are some alternatives to chroming assuming it is to expensive to have done?
    Thanks, and happy Mavericking!

Southern Bumper Exchange, in south Atlanta (404)-761-5477, wants $280 to do a small Maverick bumper.

You may also want to check with Bama Boys Bumpers. Might be a tad bit higher, not sure. I haven't used them yet but have been hearing good stuff about them.

the Lady told us if we wanted to ship them a bumper, not to box it...just tape the address to the bumper and send it.
i shipped one to cali. like that through the Post Office...:thumbs2:

you can see the backside in the last pic.

And that IS the bumper you sent them? They use the word in "Exchange" in their title... not to be a pessimist, just curious.

That IS the same bumper. A friend took his 1966 Ford Fairlane bumpers to Southern Bumper and got the same results. They did the bumpers on my '60 Falcon too. When I getting the bumpers out of the back of my truck...the lady yelled from about 100 feet away..."Is that off a 60 Falcon or 61?" In other words they know their bumpers a hundred feet away.

That's good to know, thanks. I don't usually doubt things like that, I just like to be sure is all. (y)

I am now glad that I didn`t throw away the 5 small front bumpers that I have that are pitted (each one to a different degree). Some are worse than others ,but NONE of them look as bad as the one in Franks photos.

Because of Southern Bumper Exchange I know they are ALL re-chromeable at a reasonable price.:yup:
