Hi everyone, Just wanted to take a moment to say hello! I found this site while looking for a Grabber hood for my 1970 Maverick. It appears that there is allot of great information to be found here and I am glad that I joined. I bought my first Maverick about 5 years ago when I decided I wanted to try my hand at drag racing. I had allot of fun with the car but the venture began to get a little to expensive for my budget. I really liked the car but decided it would cost too much money to make it street legal. I sold the car but found another very nice Maverick that can be used on the street or strip. 1970 Ford Maverick, Green, 306 V8, C4 with 3400 stall, 9 inch w/4.11, sub frame connectors, etc.... I included a picture of my old race car and a couple of my newest ride. Take care Mike
No I don't think it was on Craigslist. I found the car on Ebay, but purchased it outside of the auction after it did not sell. This was a long disatance purchase. I worked with the prior owner for about 3 months before making the arrangements to buy it. He lived in the state of Washington and I had it shipped all the way to Michigan. Unfortuneatly, Michigan is not known for its rust free cars so we are forced to look for cars that come from a dryer climate. Take care
Welcome aboard. You are also in luck. The Maverick Comet Club International, Inc. (MCCI) will be holding their 18th Annual Roundup Nationals in Dearborn, Michigan next July 20-24. You will see lots and lots of Mavericks and Comets. You will have to plan and attend. More details can be found at www.MaverickCometClub.org
Thanks for the information Craig, I will surely plan on attending the event. I live about an hour from Dearborn so that would be a nice road trip! I looked through your site briefly and may consider joining the club also. Mike
