Bought some of that new Krylon Fusion Plastic Paint to spiff up the rear quarter panel covers in my car. I noticed that it also listed vinyl on the can as well. These door panels were originally Tan and the arm rests were originally Green. This is black satin but the flash made it seem shinier than it really is. If it is as durable and has the adhesion they claim it may be better than vinyl die ...
Not meaning to change the subject of the thread (door panels look sweet by the way)...But Dan where did you get the Grabber stripes? It seems like I recall that the ones from Graphics Express dont have the "Grabber" logo on them.
I'll have the rear panels done later tonight ... Have to go get another can of paint ... Stripe kit is from here .... It came rolled up so I have them flat on my floor until ready to apply .. should make it easier ... http://www.stencilsandstripes.com/pr_ford&mer_mav.asp
Here are some pics of the completed panels. Although not overly glossy they do have an Armorall'd look to them. This paint is fresh so I'll have to see how it looks after 24 hours of drying ... It does dry to the touch in a matter of minutes.
I have seen them one 1 side and on both. Dosent seem to be any rhyme or reason. Then again, who knows if they're factory.
I have a set of 72 panels and the ashtray is also only on the passenger side. I have a set of 75 panels and there is an ashtry on both sides but they are mounted on the side not the armrest area ... Both sets are black and for sale if anybody needs them ... Both of these sets have a hole for the retractable rear seatbelts ...
Mine doesn't have one on either side The panels look good Dan...I'd like to see if the shiny tones down after drying...flash could have alot to do with it too.
