1973 mercury comet gt

hey everyone!

Im posting this for my 15 1/2 year old son who recently purchased an all original '73 Comet GT. I (my son) wanted to join a community like this one to learn more about this fine automobile! I had a few questions about it if anyone could help? thanks

-Does anyone make an original interior kit? premolded carpet, Head liner, seat covers, door panels, etc

-Any referrels for new chrome bumpers & trim pcs or should I have my originals re chromed?
Will post pics soon.

Thanks,
Mike (dad) &
Connor (son)

Nobody makes a "kit" for interiors, but you can buy headliners and carpet from Auto krafters as well as many other vendors. Those items are all over ebay.

Nobody makes door panels. Fred Carello (on this message board) does reupholstery kits for front bucket seats. Otherwise, a local upholstery shop can fix you up.

All chrome and trim will have to be redone...nobody repops that stuff.

I see you are from Michigan. You are in luck. The Maverick Comet Club International, Inc. (MCCI) will be holding their 19th Annual Roundup Nationals in Dearborn, Michigan next July 24-29. You will see lots and lots of Mavericks and Comets. You will have to plan and attend. More details can be found at www.MaverickCometClub.org

As Craig told you, some things you can get re-popped but most of what you will need will become a treasure hunt for you - Enjoy
