I figured Id link the pics to this thread for you all to see. We had a great time at the dyno day. Had 7 Mavericks show up, a 65 mustang, and a 65 Falcon. and a few other local members that came without their car. It was quite a long day of fun, form 11am to 8pm. The day was filled with dynoing cars, tuning stuff, fixing stuff, some good burgers and hot dogs, and alot of B.S.'ing. Should have some more when the other guy supload their pics.
Very cool, it is always fun to go to a dyno session and watch people crinch as they wind up the car. Also saw one person get sick when he got his numbers, he had put a ton of bolt on parts on his car and just added up what they said they would add for horsepower , he was nowhere close. He went over to the bushes and let er fly
Don't trust those numbers at the wheels. I about cried when I had mine dyno tuned. Then I googled " are chassie dynos accurate" and everything I read said no. They had guys with engines that put up over 500 at the fly wheel then only about 360 at the wheels. Then I think it was hot rod mag took the same car to 5 different shops and there were 100 hp differences. They said they were great for tuning but don't be heartbroken see what it dose at the track
Yes a dyno is a tool. dont really care what the Hp numbers ARE, but you like to see them go UP. And the wideband is useful to tune. THough none of us really gained much, Gene might have been the only one that found power. Im stuck at 298 hp measured at the wheels. But still running very rich until i take the carb top off and lean it out. Will probably try again in a few weeks. Im really interested to see wha the car does at the track now with the 5 speed.
What's so hard about that? Be bold, be brash and she'll tell you her age! Just act completely surprised and tell her she's looks at least 15 years younger...
